When The Body Shop first released its new line called “Spa Wisdom,” I was immediately enthralled. Why? It is because I’ve been a lover of aromatherapeutic spa scents. I love going to the spa, and given that I have the time and liberty to pamper myself with such lavish treat, I would! Yet, like other career-driven working women around, I’m too preoccupied to drop by for a invigorating-yet-time-consuming massage, nor I always have the resources to splurge for one.
One time I went to a local Body Shop stall to road test the Spa Wisdom line. Upon checking out The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Monoi Miracle Oil, I was immediately possessed! The smell is really relaxing and calming. I sniffed it over and over again until I finally decided to get it. Truly, there’s something hypnotic on its scent. I just can’t get enough of it!
Miraculous as it is, this product surprisingly has so many uses, other than being your average spa massage oil. I use it as a non-sticky and non-greasy body moisturizer–the way the dry oil mist does. It’s quickly absorbed by the skin, so it doesn’t leave an icky sticky feel (something that lotions are infamous of!). I also use it as a leave-in hair treatment every night, prior to taking a bath the next day. It leaves my locks so soft and shiny, nixing those bad hair day memories. Its hint of aroma also distresses my jarring nerves, making me feel calm and relieved. I don’t have a bath tub at home, but it claims to be used as a bath oil, too!
At the heart of this featherweight body oil is Monoi de Tahiti, an ancient emollient of coconut oil, gardenia flowers, and babassu oil from Brazil. Monoi Miracle Oil can be added to the bath, rubbed all over the body or used as a pre-shampoo treatment. -thebodyshop.com
